Pheasant Glen

Public Hearing at Qualicum Beach Town Council

On Wednesday January 15, at 3:30 pm the Town of Qualicum Beach will hold a public hearing regarding the subdivision of the existing development lands already zoned for resort development from the golf course.

We first asked for this subdivision in 2007 and are greatly encouraged by the support of the council for this long overdue subdivision. Separating the golf course proper from the resort will allow us to separate the golf course from the resort strata. This will ensure that decisions regarding the management of the golf course continue to be made by the golf management team and not by a resort condo board.

The present council has given the bylaw first and second reading. The public hearing is required prior to the third and forth reading. Members of the public will be offered an opportunity to speak in favour or against the bylaw.

We would appreciate your support either in person or in writing to the council.

You can download the notice for the meeting, and send an email to the council via the form below.

Thanks you for your continued support of Pheasant Glen. We look forward to a great 2020 and to hosting the Canadian Men’s Senior Golf Championship in September.

See you on the course.

Sincerely,

Craig Dutton

Pheasant Glen is an important asset of Qualicum Beach but it is still a business and a business has to make some kind of profit to keep doors open and prices down. If this development can help achieve this goal then I am all for it.

As a long time member of Pheasant Glen, and Glengarry before that, this project is long overdue for completion. It will be a great asset to the town and the region. We have the best golf course, so lets add the final touches to make it an outstanding resort that will benefit everyone.

Weather will not allow me to attend the meeting. Pheasent Glen is a jewel in the mid-island community. The development of the resort will greatly enhance this wonderful course and benefit the entire community with tourism from golfers around the world.

More than time to move on with this project. Housing is a real need in Qualicum Beach for which this council was elected to do, as we removed most of the previous Council who tried to run for office.

Separating the properties by subdivision is on of the first steps needed to start the project.

Council and planning should make this happen ASAP.

As far as the general public is concerned nothing would change except they would see a project moving forward.

This project needs to move forward to completion. The owners have been more than patient and this is an incredible opportunity to provide a golf destination and residences for a growing population. The project will also employ a large number of people contributing financially to the community.

Qualicum Beach can become a destination resort for Golf, Weddings, Functions and accommodation with this addition. The site offers room for 200+ attendees with minimal impact on the rest of QB.

This development is a win win for the Town of Qualicum Beach and the Pheasant Glen Golf resort. The proposal is well thought out (13 years) and benefits not just the golfers of the community and it is time counsel steps up and finally approves this long overdue diamond in the rough…

I think that a development like the one planned would do nothing buy enhance the golf course and the town. Pass it already.

Building the resort would be an asset for the community. I am in favour of the development going ahead ASAP as this project needs to go ahead. It would benefit Qualicum Beach and never be an eye sore.

This resort would bring nothing but positive to our community and therefore I hope you approve it as soon as possible. It has taken a fare amount of time getting to this point.

I very much support this development and look forward to mutual benefit from it’s completion. It will only enhance the further development of golf tourism in the area and freedom for the golf course to operate separately from the resort.

Please approve the development, we need this in Qualicum Beach and Vancouver Island. It would give people a place to play and stay that is very much needed in Qualicum. In the summer we are always booked out. We would then have the facilities to match the course if you will allow this. We don’t see why it has taken 13 years for this to happen, the owners and players have waited far to long already. Respectfully requested to finally move forward!

Bill & Craig and the whole Pheasant Glen team have been working on this proposal to expand both a viable golf course business as well as much needed recreational facilities and housing for the Qualicum Beach area for far too long. It is time to give final approval to this submission for subdividing the golf course from the resort strata lands and let this project move forward.

I fully support the proposed development for Pheasant Glen. The process has taken far too long. The local ownership and management have done a great job of sustaining the golf course through some lean times for golf courses but the development is necessary. It will be a great addition to Qualicum Beach when completed.
