Pheasant Glen Golf Resort (PGGR) has a License to begin construction of sewer and utilities for the Multi Use Lifestyle Resort Community and is eager to get rolling.
To kick off construction of Phase one, Pheasant Glen will host a Ground Breaking, Golden Shovel Ceremony this Monday, September 26 at the Qualicum Beach Airport at 12:30pm. Qualicum Beach Mayor, Brian Wiese and Council, as well as past Councillors, Bill Luchtmeijer, Mary Brouilette, and Dave Willie, MLA Adam Walker and former MLA Michelle Stilwell have been invited to attend.
Members of the Golf Course and the public are welcome to attend the Ground Breaking Golden Shovel Ceremony at the Airport. Invited guests are welcome to attend a Reception and appetizers to follow at Pheasant Glen on the deck at 1pm.
Phase One Construction Plans
The Town of Qualicum Beach has issued the License of Occupation permitting the construction to begin. Pheasant Glen has engaged JEA Anderson as Engineers for the project; Windley Construction of Nanimo as Contractor; MacDonald Gray as project consultants; and DHK of Nanaimo as Architects.
Phase one construction will include a new clubhouse, 40 room lodge and 80 units of cabins, cottages and condos. Phase one pipeline construction will begin in October. Architectural drawings and land planning aspects of Phase one construction are scheduled to be completed by years end.
Closure of The Nest Restaurant
Members – please note that a season ending closure of the Pheasants Nest and preparation for removal of the existing restaurant is tentatively scheduled for the end of October or beginning of November.
Temporary Food & Beverage Area
PGGR has purchased a food truck and the plan is to set up at temporary food and beverage area near the west side of the existing golf shop during the Clubhouse construction. This is tentatively Scheduled for late October or early November. Facilities will include a beverage tent and outdoor seating. The former event tent, now the cart storage tent, may again see temporary service as a weather shelter F&B site.
Qualicum Beach Election Season this Fall
Members are also reminded that Qualicum Beach election season is back again. We hope that members will support those council members who supported PGGR through long and arduous process.
