Pheasant Glen Golf Resort (PGGR) has officially kicked off construction of the Multi Use Lifestyle Resort Community in Qualicum Beach!
They did so during a Golden Shovel, Ground-Breaking Ceremony held at the Qualicum Beach Airport on Monday September 26, followed by a reception at the golf course.
Qualicum Beach Mayor, Brian Wiese and Council members Scott Harrison and Teunis Westbroek, as well as past Councillors, Bill Luchtmeijer, Mary Brouilette, and Dave Willie, and former MLA Michelle Stilwell were in attendance to help celebrate the occasion.

This occasion is incredibly meaningful for the Dutton family, who have owned the golf course since 1996. Golf course owner, Bill Dutton, has been dedicated to the project for over two decades and couldn’t be happier with the milestone.
The Golden Shovel, Ground Breaking Ceremony is an occasion that has capped a dream and a vision that Bill and family has nurtured for 26 years to create a championship golf course and golf community in Qualicum Beach. The family is incredibly proud to see the Multi Use Lifestyle Resort Community construction get underway.
Resort construction will include a new clubhouse, restaurant/brewery pub, pool, meeting rooms, confectionery, spa, outdoor recreation facilities, biking, walking, and hiking trails connected to the Town of Qualicum Beach trail system. The development will create an outstanding residential community that protects the natural environment, its ecosystems and biodiversity, and promotes water and energy conservation.
They wish to thank their members and wider community for all the on-going support to help make this dream a reality.
