A Multi Use Lifestyle Resort Community

A Community Vision and Re-Zoning Application before the Town of Qualicum Beach

Thank you for Showing your Support for the Resort!

Update on Pheasant Glen Rezoning Bylaw

On October 5 the Town of Qualicum Beach advised us there would be a delay of one week in considering the adoption of the Pheasant Glen rezoning bylaw. Thank you for your messages of support to Town Council!

A Community Vision for Qualicum Beach

Would you like to see a new Brew Pub in Qualicum Beach? A place to enjoy a great meal with friends in a pristine setting with rolling greens, golfers, and mountain views?

Or how about quality accommodation for short stays, the perfect choice for visiting family, friends, and golf championship players?

The Multi Use Lifestyle Resort Community boasts all of these amenities and more — even a beautiful venue for hosting weddings and other special celebrations.

The vision started with Bill Dutton’s purchase of the golf course in 1996 — and this year Pheasant Glen celebrates its 25th Anniversary. We are excited to build on this legacy, and appreciate your support!

“Our vision it to establish a resort community next to the golf course that will be nestled into the natural environment and be a vibrant place full of energy — where weddings will take place, friends and families will gather, and our grandchildren down the road can find adventure and make memories.” — Gord Melissa, General Manager

If the bylaw is adopted, Pheasant Glen will build:

All 185 Villas, Cottages and Condo units will be registered in a Resort Managed Rental pool. The Hotel, Brew Pub/Taphouse, restaurant, and banquet facilities will be available year-round for Weddings, Anniversaries, and other community activities and celebrations.

Pheasant Glen is hopeful that the Council votes to adopt their application. The benefits to the community will include the new amenities of the resort and a significant positive economic impact on the local economy, including:

“There are many reasons why the Pheasant Glen resort development is good for me, my family and my town. Our town is in desperate need of tourist accommodation, off-season accommodation, “destinations” such as the championship golf course that is Pheasant Glen, large rental unit pool. It also ties into the biking, walking and hiking trails very nicely. The project will mean jobs (both construction and permanent), ongoing tax revenues and no cost to the town for the site services.” — John Wood

Pheasant Glen Golf Resort has a Re-Zoning Application for 1025 Qualicum Road, adjacent to the resort property, that is before the Town of Qualicum Beach, and in the final stages of review. It is expected to generate $40-50 million in economic activity for the local area.

This Development Proposal include 225 units of mixed cottage, cabin, and stacked condo/hotel units. Amenities proposed include a new clubhouse, restaurant/brewery pub, pool, meeting rooms, confectionery, spa, outdoor recreation facilities, biking, walking, and hiking trails connected to the Town of Qualicum Beach trail system. The proposal is to create an outstanding residential community that protects the natural environment, its ecosystems and biodiversity, and promotes water and energy conservation.

    Quarry Gardens

The Quarry Gardens will attract tourism, create jobs, re-use resource-depleted land, and engage the local community.

The design concept for the Quarry Gardens is inspired by the west coast. Open for public use, the gardens include 1km of trails that weave through native plant communities, local ecosystems, and manicured coastal wildflower meadows.

A central rainwater collection pond feature will collect surface run off during storm events that will cascade into the space, making this a true west coast ‘rain garden’ experience. The picnic pavilion offers a shelter for recreation overlooking the pond.

    Brew Pub & Clubhouse

The concept for the new Brew Pub and Clubhouse will embrace the agricultural heritage of the surrounding geography.

This new building will be located within the golf course lands with a golf shop, restaurant, bistro, and brew pub. The building and surroundings will have the capacity to serve several groups simultaneously — such as golfers after a game, private parties, weddings, and local residents.

The synergy of food and beverage facilities, accommodation, and range of recreation options will contribute to a vibrant resort and valuable community amenity.

    Resort Lodge, Cabins & Villas

The Resort Lodge will feature 40, one or two bedroom hotel units (500-1,000 sq.ft) with kitchens. These units will be intended for daily/weekly rentals during the peak season, and monthly in the off-season.

Resort Cabins (900-1,200 sq.ft) will provide flexible year-round accommodation for groups of golfers, hikers, bikers, and bird watchers. The location will provide walking, biking, or golf cart access to resort amenities.

Resort Villas will be rural scale and character, single-family units (1,800-2,500 sq.ft) suitable for year-round occupation—ideal for an environmentally responsible resort.
